THE PLT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A LOSS PASS OVER A GRAVEL AREA, HE EXPERIENCED VIOLENT SINKING DUE TO WIND SHEAR. THE PLT REPORTED THE WINDS WERE FROM 240 DEGS AT 25 KTS GUSTING TO 35 KTS.
