Probable cause

THE PILOT'S IMPROPER USE OF HIS FUEL SUPPLY, WHICH RESULTED IN FUEL STARVATION AND LOSS OF POWER IN THE LEFT ENGINE. A FACTOR RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT WAS THE PILOT'S LACK OF FAMILIARITY WITH THE AIRCRAFT.
