Probable cause
POWER LOSS DUE TO THE DETERIORATED MUFFLER BAFFLE WHICH WAS NOT DISCOVERED IN THE RECENT ANNUAL INSPECTION. A FACTOR WAS THE PILOT'S FAILURE TO PROPERLY ANALYZE AND CORRECT FOR THE HEADWIND.
