WHILE PRACTICING TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS ON AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT, THE INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT ENCOUNTERED METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS DESCRIBED BY THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AS TREMENDOUS DOWNDRAFTS. THE PIPER PA-38-112 CRASHED ON CROSSWIND LEG, INJURING BOTH OCCUPANTS.
