DURING TAKE-OFF IN A CROSSWIND, THE STUDENT PILOT FAILED TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE AIRCRAFT SWERVED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY INTO A DRAINAGE DITCH.
