WHILE IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN, ON BASE LEG TO FINAL LEG, THE PILOT LOST VISUAL CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY WHEN HE ENCOUNTERED LOW LEVEL FOG. THE AIRPLANE THEN CONTINUED THE DESCENT AND CRASHED INTO A LAKE.
