The pilot reported that after touchdown, the airplane “lifted a little” and then exited the runway to the right. The pilot attempted to correct by applying the left rudder and left brake. The airplane came to rest upright about 20 ft off the right side of the runway. Postaccident examination of the airplane revealed the left main landing gear was collapsed, and the airplane sustained substantial damage to the left wing. The pilot reported there were no preaccident mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
Quoted verbatim from the NTSB record.
