The pilot reported that during a visual approach to land, he inadvertently landed with the landing gear retracted. The airplane came to rest on the right side of the runway and sustained substantial damage to the lower fuselage during the accident sequence. The pilot reported that there were no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures of the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
