The pilot reported that, shortly after touchdown while conducting a full stop landing, a gust of wind caused the right wing to come up and the airplane veered to the left. The pilot attempted to correct with opposite aileron and rudder; however, the pilot overcorrected. The airplane veered to the right, entered a skid, and exited the right side of the runway which resulted in substantial damage to the left wing and fuselage. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. At the time of the accident, the pilot was landing the airplane on runway 25 with wind from 330° at 8 knots.
Quoted verbatim from the NTSB record.
