The pilot reported that upon landing, the tailwheel airplane veered left. The pilot applied full power to take off again, but the left wing struck the ground, the airplane rolled to the right, and the right wing struck the ground. The pilot moved the engine throttle to idle, and the airplane spun around 180° and came to rest on the runway. The left and right wings were substantially damaged. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. At the time of the accident, the pilot was landing the airplane on runway 35R with the wind from 280° at 5 knots.
Quoted verbatim from the NTSB record.
