The helicopter collided with terrain in southern Indonesia, and both pilots survived. Investigators reported that the aircraft was crumpled, and sitting over on its side. Witnesses reported that the helicopter just plummeted to the ground at a very low level. They believed that the approach was irregular compared to previous or normal approaches. The pilot reported that after noticing indicators decaying or going down, he tried to increase power, but to no avail. The accident is under the jurisdiction of and is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Committee.
